ATKINS DIET
Famous for its low carb-high fat menu, the Atkins diet has 4 phases to be followed:
- Phase 1 – the Induction Phase (first 2 weeks)-carbohydrate intake should only be up to 20 grams per day.
- Phase 2 – Ongoing Weight Loss – you augment carbohydrates intake to 25 grams every day on the first week, 30 grams each day the next week and so on until weight loss stops and then slash back 5 grams to carry on a sensible weight loss.
- Phase 3 – Pre-Maintenance – take 10 gram increments of carbohydrates each week to aid your transition from weight loss to weight maintenance.
- Phase 4 – Lifetime Maintenance – this stage allows intake up to 90 grams of carbohydrates. This is also the best stage to enjoy a wider assortment of just as long as carbohydrate intake is strictly monitored.
Some food groups allowed in the Atkins Diet program:
- Certain Meats and Poultry: Boiled ham , turkey and chicken breast , bacon, low or non-fat lunch meat , lean ground beef , all types of seafood

- One serving of nuts each day such as almonds, cashews, or macadamia nuts

- Sugar substitutes
- Sweets such as: sugar-free gelatin, fudge pops, hard sugar-free candy
- Low-fat cheeses, Eggs, and Sugar substitutes

SOUTH BEACH DIET
The SBD discourages the consumption of food with bad carbohydrates and fats. Even without counting calories, this diet plan promotes eating 3 normal meals plus snacks, and still promises to cut back up to 13 pounds in the first two weeks. The SMB had 3 phases to follow:
- Phase 1: During the first two weeks, intake of carbohydrates is not allowed. Meals are consisted of lean meats like chicken, turkey, beef, ham, fish, and shellfish. Yogurt, vegetables with low glycemic index, low-fat cheese, nuts, and eggs are allowed.
- Phase 2: This phase is more indulgent than the first phase. A few of the forbidden foodstuff are launched bit by bit. This phase should continue until you’ve reached your desired weight. The expected weight loss during this phase is approximately 1-2 pounds for each week.

CSIRO DIET
The CSIRO is the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation and is Australia’s national science agency. The CSIRO basic diet is made up of the following foods each day:
High fibre cereal: 40g/1.5oz
Low fat milk: 250ml
Wholegrain bread: 2 slices
Fruit: 2 pieces
Lean chicken/fish/eggs/other meat for lunch: 100g/4oz
Lean beef or lamb for dinner: 200g/8oz
Vegetables: 2.5 cups daily

DETOX DIET
